The Members of the Consortium

The Net-Centric Software and Systems Center is currently made up of three universities and several industrial members.

The Center will also work with U.S. federal, state and logal government agencies to address the requirements of transitioning software to net-centric systems.

Net-centricity offers a computing model for the future. In this paradigm, we no longer view applications as having a fixed set of capabilities: we see them as a set of highly reliable services that are dynamically created from acquired services, then verified and validated in the field in real-time without human intervention.

The Net-Centric IUCRC's Mission

We envision this NSF Net-Centric Industry/University Cooperative Research Center to become a leading research alliance in the U.S. Because we can cooperate with the expertise of academic institutions and high-tech companies, we have much greater research capabilities than any one institution working alone.

Given the broad foundation of knowledge that the consortium is built on, we are able to undertake all aspects of software and systems research for net-centric solutions, including modeling, analysis, design, implementation, V&V, performance evaluation, testing, deployment, and further optimization of net-centric software and systems.

How to join

A business can join the Center as an Industrial Member and sign a membership agreement with any of the Academic Institutions. Each Industrial Member is entitled to a representative on the Industrial Advisory Board that decides which projects will be funded from the pooled annual dues. Industrial Members have non-exclusive royalty-free access to research conducted by the consortium. Other licensing agreements are also available.
